About Us
What’s our story?
After three years at the heart of downtown Montpelier, Bent Nails Roadhouse represents the next chapter for owners Aaron Scoti and Charis Churchill—one shaped by creativity, resilience, and a desire to build community in a way that truly works.
The pair opened Bent Nails Bistro in October 2021, transforming a historic Langdon Street space known for its deep roots in music and performance into an intimate, art-forward gathering place. The Bistro became known for its eclectic live shows, European-inspired comfort food, and a distinctly handmade aesthetic—featuring Aaron’s found-object sculptures from Bent Nails Studios alongside Charis’s theatrical design touches and decades of hospitality experience.
As Montpelier nightlife slowed and operating realities shifted, Aaron and Charis made the deliberate decision to close the Bistro and reimagine Bent Nails in a new location—one better suited to their vision. In 2025, they reopened as Bent Nails Roadhouse at 970 Route 2 in Middlesex, embracing a more flexible, welcoming roadhouse model focused on great food, craft cocktails, conversation, and community.
Bent Nails has always been about more than a room or a menu—it’s about creating a place where people feel comfortable pulling up a chair, staying awhile, and coming back again.
